Course Description

This course is intended as a diabetes care and support training for both staff new to diabetes care and for staff who need a refresher. Please view all the Pear Deck slides and participate in the lessons and interactive questions before taking the quizzes. All participants must pass all quizzes with a 90% or better to receive credit for this course.

This course is an Annual intended for:

School Nurses
Health Assistants
School staff who volunteer to be Diabetes Care Personnel

How you can complete this course:

- Read through each module Pear Deck slide deck and watch any associated videos. There are some interactive elements in the modules, so look for places to type in answers or interact with the content. Listen to slide description if you see a "headphone" icon to indicate the presence of audio.
- Complete each quiz at the end of each module. You must pass with a 90% on each quiz to receive your PD credit.
- If you score lower than a 90%, please review the module content and retake the quiz.
- You will not be able to complete the second, hands on, portion of the training (Skills Delegation) with a score below 90%. Grades are monitored by the Canvas course instructor.

Success in the self-paced class

Requires both a commitment of your time as well as your personal motivation towards gaining knowledge. Take extra time to read and work through each piece of this class; if you simply skip to the quizzes or open modules without reading you will miss key concepts and information.

Course Credit

Earn PD credit hours and a digital badge by completing the Quizzes after each module with a score of 90% or better.

To be eligible for CNE credits for this training:

CNE credits available for new-to-APS School Nurses accessing the training for the first time.
Complete the Diabetes Care and Support Training modules and interactive content.
Complete all seven module quizzes on Canvas with a minimum score of 90%.
