Welcome to Engineering. I hope that the year goes well and that you enjoy the class. Please read all the information provided so that you will understand the class. You will have to sign the back page and return it for a grade.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Computers and drafting techniques are used to study the basic principles of engineering and architecture principles. Our drafting facility is equipped with 34 computers utilizing AutoCAD & Soildworks drafting software.
DURATION:
Two semester course (One year) .5 credit per semester (1 credit per year).
ATTENDANCE:
The Cibola HS Attendance policy and Tardy policy will be strictly followed. Good attendance is required to complete the course. Attendance problems could result in withdrawal from the class and loss of credit.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A $25 lab/materials fee is charged for the class. Fees need to be paid within the first 3 weeks of school. Please contact me as soon as possible if other arrangements need to be made, otherwise cash payment will be collected in class or payable online through Parent Vue with a credit card.
MATERIALS:
- Students must use a pencil in class at all times.
- Binder – must have a 3-ring binder, 1” thick.
GRADING:
- Projects/Tests = 40%
- Quizzes/Labs = 30%
- Classwork = 20%
- Professionalism = 10%
- 90 – 100% = A
- 80 – 89% = B
- 70 – 79% = C
- 60 – 69% = D
- Below 59% = F
MODIFICATIONS/MAKE-UP WORK:
- If any student requires extra time or assistance on projects or tests, please notify me as soon as possible.
- You receive weekly points for participation. This includes being in class, on time and an active learner.
- If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and when you can make it up.
CLASSROOM RULES:
- All rules and consequences listed in the school handbook apply.
- Treat people and property with respect. Absolutely no horseplay.
- No abusive language or bad attitudes, including refusal to obey or disruption of the class.
- No inappropriate use of the computer or cheating will be tolerated, including plagiarism.
- All electronic devices including cell phones, music players, gaming systems must be turned off and not visible during class time.
- No food or drink is allowed in class, except bottled water.
CONSEQUENCES:
- First Offense – Verbal warning.
- Second Offense – Student needs to clean 2 desktops in class.
- Continued Offenses – Student will receive referral with parent conference, detention or removal from class.
